Join our worldwide family of guests, and indulge yourself in
turn-of-the-century accommodations that reflect Aspen’s 1880s silver
mining boom with its western Victorian charm. Our
luxury Aspen Colorado hotel boasts
rooms
that
are all appointed with private baths, most including whirlpool tubs
or totally relaxing steam showers. Our room appointments are sure to
appeal to the most discriminating taste in lodging by pampering you
with cozy linens, specially milled soaps, and thick, plush towels.
Under the guidance of
Aspen’s
Historic Plan Commission, the lodge was restored to its 1880s
origins. Silver Bell, Ruthie’s Run, and Spar Gulch, the original
three rooms built by the home’s first owner, are decorated with a
western Victorian ambiance of yesteryear. When the demand for skiing
hit
Aspen,
so did the demand for rooms. At its peak the inn boasted 22 rooms.
Today the lodge is converted to 13 rooms, adding elements of comfort
and charm. Each of the 10 north rooms embraces the western culture
of Aspen’s history.
The charm of each century-old room has been perfectly maintained
while we discriminately provide you with multiple phone lines and
high-speed internet access for your convenience. Enjoy the character
of each of the lodge’s seven common areas uniquely designed in
balance for your pleasure in conversation or quiet time, or you may
check out a video or DVD in the privacy of your room.
Indulge yourself with a stay at this bed and
breakfast in Aspen,
Colorado.
Enter each room for a visit by clicking on the adjacent nameplates
(digital imagery pending), which replicate the actual plates on each
room door. Each room name was carried from the lodge’s first
innkeeper, Marge Babcock and her husband, Jim, and is named after
area landmarks, ski runs, or famous people who played a role in
Aspen’s history. Upon request additional roll-a-way beds are
available.
